How safe is the Mazda 6?
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety designated the 2017 Mazda 6 a Top Safety Pick+ vehicle (IIHS). All crash tests received excellent ratings, the best possible rating, from the IIHS. The Mazda 6 received a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The NHTSA rated the frontal crash test and the side impact test five stars, the highest grade. The rollover test received a four-star grade from the government body.
