NAIC Complaint Index

A measure of how many complaints an insurer receives relative to its market share.

What is naic complaint index?

The NAIC Complaint Index is a standardized measure of how many consumer complaints an insurer receives relative to its market share. An index of 1.00 is average; below 1.00 is fewer complaints than average, above 1.00 is more.

Details

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) collects complaint data from every state insurance department. The complaint index is normalized so a small insurer with proportionally few complaints can be compared to a large one with more total complaints. It’s one of the most useful third-party measures of customer experience.
